The facility expansion represents the single largest infrastructure investment performed by the City of Lake Charles and allows for the treatment of 8 MGD daily flow and a peak flow of 35 MGD. The expansion included a new influent pump station constructed via the sinking caisson method, pretreatment structure, multiple oxidation ditches, clarifier splitter boxes, multiple clarifiers, UV disinfection structure, and multiple single-story masonry buildings for electrical and equipment storage.
